Dinkelsbuhl:
Summer
Build
Program
For this project completed in May of 2016, I worked as part of a group of 10 students along with our professor in Dinkelsbuhl Germany. The two-month program included the construction of a small staircase for a local building, and assembling working drawings for the local municipality proposing the refurbishment of a 16th-century timber home. The home was being converted into apartments and required accurate measurements to be taken, and existing condition drawings to be constructed. In addition to the small projects, the trip included exposure to traditional mass timber techniques in Germany as well as Switzerland, whereas a group we toured regionalist Architect Gion A Caminada’s projects and studio in the village of Vrin.
